The Most Evil Phone Feature

The number award for the most evil phone features goes to Nokia's Series 60 Clock application.

When you go to bed way too late and set your alarm to wake up way to early the day after, it should be as painless as possible. You know it is only going to be few hours of sleep, but you can always fool yourself into thinking that maybe it isn't that bad. You can always round up a bit when carelessly calculating how much you will get to sleep.

Well until you see the following...

Pain, pain, pain!!

The worst thing is that you cannot turn this off. You are forced to being reminded how little sleep you will get:-(.

I completely agree. I thought

I completely agree. I thought I was the only one who found that aweful dialog painful. Its nice to know there are others.

I have made it a point to look away, and also stop my brain from calculating the number of hours left. Although I feel that has hurt my addition/subtraction skills. But at least I get some good sleep. :)

Iceland Long hours of day

Iceland
Long hours of daylight and extreme cold are not playing spoilsport for Icelanders. People from Iceland have sex younger than any other country (15.6) followed by the Germans (15.9) and Swedes (16.1), it said.

Probably the extreme cold and long hours of daylight (23 hours) may have something to do with this statistic.

Norwegians: 73 per cent have unsafe sex
Norway is among the world's richest countries in terms of per capita income. It also ranks first among countries with the highest quality of life. According to a CNBC report, at the beginning of the 20th century, Norway was one of the poorest countries in Western Europe. Now it has the world's second highest per capita GDP.

Some would say that the comfort of being among the world's richest would have contributed to the recklessness of Norwegians in also being ranked a whopping 73 % globally for having unsafe sex.

This is a recent survey by Durex Condom and CNBC channel...

As you belong to both the places...u think it is authentic..i mean survey

I don't follow..

If you had your sex debute as very young and do it often and without protection, will that in later years affect your ability to stay up late? I suppose that if the phone or alarm clock tells you that you have less than four hours until you need to wake up, having sex is the least thing on your mind? Of course, I could be wrong...

No not the daylights fault

It wouldn't surprise me. I know people have sex really young in Iceland and I have heard that Norwegians have a lot of unsafe sex. I would suspect though that Icelanders have a lot of unsafe sex too but I think they might have their first sex a bit later than in Iceland as it is more common to go away for school around 16 in Iceland. I think more Norwegians stay at home longer. And we start drinking really young in Iceland which might what counts for the early sex more than the long hours of daylight which I would think do the opposite. You need the dark to hide in you see:-).

Bad, bad phone

Yes, I totally agree with Peter! Lets ask the Politicians to add some hours into the day!

I am glad I am not alone thinking this is a silly feature. Ignorance is a bliss:-).

Work in shifts?

Would some kind of shifts improve the situation? I'm thinking something along this:

Monday: work 08-21, then free
Tuesday: free all day
Wednesday: work 00-13, then free
Thursday: work 16-05
Friday: free from 5 am
Saturday & Sunday: free (as before, if you work office hours)

A total of 39 working hours per week.

It probably would screw up your day rhyhtm, but you Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and almost all of Friday off.

Weird hours

I have heard of people that work like this (or similar weird hours) and they don't seem to be enjoying themselves that much. It could be nice though sometimes. But I am just waiting for the 6 hour work day they discuss here in Norway. It will be weird though 3 hours before lunch and 3 hours after.

My phone does not have that feature, and I'm quite happy it doesn't. It's really really bad to start thinking "oohh, I HAVE TO SLEEP NOW, IT'S ONLY 5 hours 45 minutes 32 seconds UNTIL I HAVE TO GET UUUUP!" and so on, so why would your phone remind you... Baaad phone.

YEs!

Yes! And now mine says "6 hours 33 minutes" ... which is f*cking annoying because I know I am going to feel like sh*t tomorrow too...

The hours after 23 are so short! blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

A matter of time

What we need is simply more hours per day. Especially between 00 and 06 there should be at least ten hours...

Oh, I agree totally. That would make the world a much nicer (and more awake) place.
