Off to a Remote Island

Only few hours until I need to get up again to head to the airport. The fact that I am going on the coolest vacation of my life hasn't really hit me yet so I am pretty calm.

So the plan is to blog once in a while. Mainly so I can look back at it later and remember what a cool trip I went on.

There are however two factors that might ruin that plan for me. If there are no updates it probably means that I haven't got access to the Internet or that I have been eaten by a shark...

Au revoir for now!

Your *coolest* vacation? I

Your *coolest* vacation? I hope it wasn't your *chilliest* vacation at least. Nothing beats going to a sub-tropical or better destination just to find they're having the most rainy and coldest season in 50 years. ;-)

Rainest

Actually... they said it was much rainier than usually. For us though it wasn't that rainy compared to what we are used to. There were few showers that quickly passed.

Welcome back and have a nice trip!

I really don't visit this blog so often because you haven't been writing for a while, but today I decided to do so because I had a weird dream with you in it. We were in Iceland and I was at my parents house, it seemed like I was at the old place in the country but the inside wasnt really like it. There came some people to visit and you were one of them. The dream took place in various places but you always seemed to be there. First I saw you I was speeking Danish to some Icelandic lady in a store, and few icelandic sentences in between, and saying I dont know Icelandic anymore. At my parents house there was a crowd and I talked to many of them, all kinds of people I know from my life, past and presence. You were always there, surprisingly. I went outside and there you were, wearing all black with a black umbrella, coming out of our old gardenhouse my mum kept flowers in, at the farm. A strange thought came through my mind that you must be used to use an umbrella, but strange to use it here where the wind blows so much. But I must say you looked great in the dream and the umbrella was very big and I can just see it. Than you left, the dream was much longer, all kinds of people I have known. Well this was the reason why I checked you blog today. Welcome back!! Hope you are having a nice vacation, sounds so exciting!!! Hope you dont need the umbrella there;o) Take care! Looking forward to more blogs from mediumgeek. Kveðja Heiðdís danska.

Maybe I will soon get an umbrella in my drink

Dreams are very odd! I often dream random people from school that I haven't been in contact with for ages. I do actually use an umbrella in Norway and there have been few showers here when I have missed it but I don't think I will ever risk being blown out to ocean by using one in Iceland :) .

I wish I knew how to interpret dreams. Not sure what an umbrella means. I still haven't gotten a cocktail with umbrella here, maybe I will soon :)

I hope the weather isn't too bad over in Denmark.

umbrella

My mum said "gjöf úr óvæntri átt" , a gift from some-one/-where unexpected... when wearing an umbrella in a dream, not mentioned if you see someone with an umbrella if it means the same for that person... I dont know if these dreambooks know anything... Again, hope you have a good trip, and get many umbrellas in your drinks:o)

Lottery

Lets both buy a lottery ticket :)

Sharks...

So that's why... Your motto is "Better to eat a shark, than to be easten by one".

yumm

Shark meat is yummy.
I had some shark fish & chips a long time ago, and it was juicy, flaky white fish-meat. They're pretty athletic animals - I would have expected the meat to be tougher.

Here's some essential French:
Bee-air = beer
twa-let = toilet
comb-bien = how much?
pa tro ay-pee-say = not too spicy! (useful for Scandinavians)

Have a great vacation.

Thanks

Yes, we tried shark there and it was very, very good. Nothing like the Icelandic shark to put it mildly!

I used all except the last phrase. I am not a typical Nordic person when it comes to spicy food. I actually just came back from the store now with a full bag of Habaneros :)

I am not sure what is worse

Well... I am a bit split on that one actually :)
