Did I ever post my suggestion of a compromise, the theory that God invented evolution and instead of creating every species from scratch, he created one life form and from there pushed some buttons on the Evolution Control Panel to make mutations as required? Since it is said in the Bible that God made humans to His image, and we all know that humans tend to be lazy, why should not God also be a lazy deity, setting up the Earth and all its inhabitants with the least required work? Actually by taking that view it is amazing how many different types of animals and plants there are. Even letting guided evolution take its turn must've been a lot of work.
