Screw the Shoes, I want Internet!

I can't blog about something postive two entries in a row so here it goes...

Someone posted a flier in the entrance of my building trying to rent out an apartment. There I was standing, thinking I was living in a modern country where men and women were considered equal...

Translation:
Perfect apartment for a couple:
For him: Parking space, place to store your bike, elevator, internet, cable TV, big storage space in basement and inbuilt kitchen appliances.
For her: A lot of closet space, heating in floor, big mirror in bathroom, sunny balcony with romantic evening sun, and space for 30 pairs of shoes in the hallway.
For both: Space for a 180-bed

Still seems some people think women only care about clothes, looking pretty, and relaxing while the guys do all the cool stuff. The only thing they might want to share is the bed of course...

Ok, the only positive thing was that the guys seems to be supposed to do the cooking... or is it implying he doesn't have to buy the kitchen appliances for the lady? Hrmrfrm...

It sounds a little bit

It sounds a little bit discriminatory, yes but I don't think it's in a bad way. After all, for him there are "inbuilt kitchen appliances" so let's just suppose he'll do the cooking. She can only suggest what kind of appliance parts she wants...

I have never heard of

I have never heard of screw-in soles. Both of those pictures show standard stitch-down soles. I am not too sure about those brands, either. They look kind of Doc Martin-esque, which aquarium light is to say, they are for walking to the pub, or stomping in the mosh pit.If you want quality stitch-down hiking boots, check out Danner Boots and Limmer Boots, in the US, and there are some Italian and German brands as well. They are spendy, but christmas lights you will NEVER wear out a pair of Limmer standard boots. My wife spent 7 months backpacking across Africa and Asia in a pair and they are barely broken in.These boots are not light or cheap but in my mind the durability, leather lining and being able to resole them makes up for that.Don't overlook the fact that desk lamp surplus military boots are going at good prices on ebay and maybe at your local surplus store. Kinda have to agree with the mosh pit and pub comment. If your feet are not happy you will not be happy.

Nice Blog!

Nice Blog Posting Thanks!

I'd like to know if the

I'd like to know if the seller measured the space by shoes, and in that case which size? I think women wearing Euro 37 will fit at least one or two more pairs of shoes than a lady who requires size 41 or even 42 on some shoes.

Unless I got my math screwed up, high heeled shoes should also take less space than running shoes due to the length of the sole becomes the hypothenuse in a pair of pumps. According to that way of thinking, a woman with shoe size 37 who ONLY wears 4" heels or higher (Victoria Beckham?) may fit up to 35 pairs of stilettos, pumps and a few hooker boots in the hallway while the Earth bound woman with large feet who only walks around in foot-right shoes and Dr. Martens perhaps will only fit 27 pairs of shoes.

Besides, it only said "a lot" of closet space, not exactly how many pairs of trousers, skirts, blouses, evening dresses, coats and kinky catsuits you will be able to fit. Basically I think that seller was way too unprecise in their marketing. ;-)

Living in a 1045 square stilleto apartment...

LOL! I will put up a request next to the ad to specify all of these things :) . Looking for a flat to all your shoes and clothes?

No self respecting woman

No self respecting woman would put 30 pairs of shoes in the hallway anyway, It would look very messy and thus negating all the effort they put into cleaning!

Haha

Maybe not... but they would for sure hit you with the pan they are using for cooking and then leave you with all your money if they heard you say that ;)
