Be careful what you wish for

Haven't we all wished for a beauty queen that didn't just want world peace?
Well it looks like we just got one and it is just scary!

Read my other ItsRoots Blog where I blog about my 2010 reading challenge.
Do we have a swimsuitgate?
I find it a bit fun when media pulls out old pictures and in a mocked outrage points that the vice president candidate once posed on stage only wearing a swimsuit (and perhaps heels?). Well, duh that is one of the events in those competitions and it is not like she's been an employee at a strip club.. at least not that I've heard of.
I wonder if she had been a former professional swimmer, would they post the same pictures, playing on some moral issue of a barely but still clothed politician - a woman even?! *sigh*
Anyway, "beauty queen" and "hockey mom" to me spells two different kind of women. No matter what we think of her opinions and political visions, it is fascinating to have seen her going from one to the other. As for wearing guns however, I'm sure both types could be found having them, just the sterotypical beauty queen is a bit more hysterical about when she needs to use it. ;-)
Scary Spice
I agree that it is a bit silly to pull up those pictures of her as a beauty queen. Why does it matter? I was actually looking at one of those article with that picture when I started about thinking about annoying beauty queens saying they want world peace.
I really don't care at all if she was a beauty queen or not. There are far more worrying things about her than that :)
