I watched this video before the election and found it a bit too silly. That was untill I saw interviews with people that were shaking, crying and thinking their country was going under after Obama won and realized that it wasn't as far off as I thought.

You know that you could have a job in dissertation writing or essay writers, just because men would like to read the super outcome reffering to this good topic or buy thesis therefore they buy research papers on line.
I laughed.
I chuckled a couple of times.
on a serious note I think what happens with the republican party over the next couple of years will be very interesting. Will they break apart or move more to the right, becoming even smaller as moderate republicans start to identify themselves as indipendents or even democrats?

Political death
I don't think they will dare to break apart. They would at least have to split almost even or otherwise the smaller part will become powerless. It is a strange system where there are two parties that have almost 50/50 power. Any startup is bound to fail as most American seem to think that even if someone has great vision they are not worth voting for as they will never get enough votes to make a difference.
Sad!
My not so secret hope is that the conservative wing will dare break off and die a quiet political death :)

On a forum I read, a Swede who lived a big part of his life in the USA (perhaps even born there) expressed his concern:
The United States of America 1776 - 2008. RIP.
He wrote that Barrack Obama stands for everything the founders of the United States did not. Further he didn't understand why the USA would need to seek acceptance from the rest of the world, since they never have before and the country once was built from European emigrants trying to get away from "the rest of the world".
Obama is also accused of having a hidden agenda, co-operating with dark (I) powers, being anti-Semite (I wonder why he just appointed a Jewish person to become Chief of State), kill the free speech and generally being a lot of talk but very little to say.
I'm sure the state and military has ways to overtake the president if he turns out to be Satan himself. I strongly doubt that's the case though, just people who don't like the idea of paying a bit more taxes. As for us foreign people though, Obama will work against free trade so companies exporting goods and services to the USA will get a harder time than if McCain had won.

It is a bit difficult to understand their way of thinking sometimes. What did they stand for? Wasn't freedom, christian values, you can do anything you want? It is hard to see how taking care of the poorer/less fortunate people in society goes against that? Trying to treat everyone fairly? Values need to be updated with times as we understand things around us better.
I can understand if they don't want the Scandinavian system where you can almost just decide one day that you don't feel like working and let others take care of you. I think that is going too far. But equal right to health care? What is so wrong with that? Keeping people healthy and in work should be much better for society and the economy.
